Totally refurbished interior, rebuilt engines

1946 Arnold Walker 59 has been totally refurbished as a spacious liveaboard vessel and totally capable of her former career as a tug boat.

She has a forward master cabin with two outside doors and a private entry into a full bathroom on the lower level complete with an Electro Scan I MSD w/III back-up. A guest cabin is located aft on the lower level.

The galley on the upper level has a 3 burner LP stove, a large basin sink, hinge top dining table with storage below, unlimited window views, and a full-size refrigerator/freezer.

The indoor galley continues into an outside covered kitchen/dining area with a curtain that wraps around the entire area when needed for privacy or shading.

New engine power has been installed using rebuilt Cummins 6CTA 8.3 420 horsepower engines with 138 hours, since being rebuilt, on each procured from Seamaster Marine. They are keel cooled, do not require DEF, and use 12 V for starting.

The actual fuel consumption while cruising at 7.5 knots at 1400 RPMs with the generator in full operation is 9.5 gallons per hour. The maximum speed is 9 knots.

There is a 50-gallon fuel tank that has triple filtration to provide fuel to the engines and the generator. This provides constant clean fuel for all systems.

All steering (hydraulic), engine, and transmission cables are updated including a 2-speed steering lever.

Safety has been modernized with three AC breaker panels, one 24 V and one 12 V DC panel. Additionally, several DC fuse panels, and updated stairs to access the outside dining area.

It has been updated with a15 KW Southeaster generator with outputs as 120/240 VAC, 3 phase, 60 HZ, and 12/24 VDC. All wiring is new.

Stored ready for use is a full set of aluminum weather-tight hatches for all external doorways.

A specially designed windlass anchoring system with a Rocna anchor and 300" of 1/2" G4 chain was just installed and there is a spare anchor on the lower level.

In May of 2021, She was driven back to Bayou La Batre, Alabama, and hauled out. The entire bottom was sandblasted to bare metal and specially treated with bottom paint. The 24 new anodes were re-configured for simple replacement in the future by divers.

She has a 50 amp Isolation transformer. She also has a 30 amp Isolation transformer. These are to prevent galvanic corrosion. Very important as it is a key system on a steel boat.

There are five AC systems. Two are window units and three are typical water-cooled reverse heat/cool units.

If you are looking for a magnificent boat in this price range request a showing and meet the owner/couple who actually liveaboard and re-fitted her. You will have a chance to see all manuals and maintenance details.

All waste is processed in an electro scan system.

She was purchased by the sellers in April of 2015 and relocated from the Port of Mobile, Alabama to Pensacola, Florida.

ConditionI personally saw this boat in 2015 in its original working condition and now after being re-fitted. The layout from workboat to liveaboard has a nice flow and enticement to not leave. Every motor, wire, pipe, hose, device, and tank is thoughtfully placed and has a light for ease of viewing and simplicity to gain access when needed to the best of the owners' ability. The owners assert she is move-in ready. They are also only selling the vessel and not their personal possessions which may be in the pictures.
