Fast, strong, capable passage-maker, local cruiser or club racer.

This is a beautiful and robustly outfitted Olin Stephens (Sparkman and Stephens) designed ocean racer. It is well equipped with a full suite of Brooks and Gatehouse electronics, some still in the box. There are eight bunks updated standing and running rigging. It has sailed to Russia, Hawaii, and Alaska, and is well equipped to do so again.

If you are a serious racer, you will appreciate the Huge Lewmar 3-speed primary winches, the skeg-hung rudder, and the adjustable mast-step which was just serviced. Sails include three spinnakers; three headsails; a heavy-duty main with two reefs. The standing and running rigging was all new in the summer of 2021 (see details below). The boat is powered with a Westerbeke 4-90 25 hp diesel engine.

The boat also features a barbeque; a new windex; new exit blocks and plates on mast. There is a recent radar dome on a new dampened gimbaled mount; a recent
GPS, anemometer, wind direction indicator, and fathometer (all Brooks and Gatehouse). There is a new LED masthead anchor light, a rebuilt Raritan head, updated port and starboard running lights; updated LED deck & steaming lights, an alcohol Origo range, and a vintage pressurized alcohol oven.

Features include the original teak and holly sole, newer non-permeable sanitation hoses, and new heavy-duty sanitation pump for overboard discharge. The holding tank has never been used and is equipped with the proper vent and anti-siphon loop. Other tankage includes a 25-gallon diesel tank, two freshwater tanks with manual foot pumps; one dedicated to the sink in the head and the other to the galley. There are manual and electric bilge pumps.

There are high-end Weems and Plath ship's clock and barometer; rebuilt hydraulic backstay tensioner; dual bow rollers; 30 lbs Danforth anchor on combination chain and three-strand nylon rode; newer bronze packing gland and bellows.

Other features include the recent Jabsco bronze raw water pump; compass; back-up vintage fathometer; Iverson Dodger with oversized tubing and hand-holds, Isinglass covers and removable extensions. It has a newer Liberty Bay sail cover, new mast boot, boom vang, and a new laminated tiller with a cover to match the sail cover and dodger. Spares include an exhaust manifold, injection pump, and a set of engine gaskets. There is a Newport Dickinson diesel heater with baffle. VHF radio with new antenna.

ConditionThe diesel engine runs well, but the hours are unknown. They are likely over 5,000, as the Hobbs hour meter was replaced by the previous owner without notation of the prior hours. The boat was hauled out in the summer of 2021 with two coats of ablative anti-foulant bottom paint applied and new rigging. It has all recent oversized standing rigging; recent running rigging; renewed chain plates with new full-length half-inch 316 stainless steel backing plates and all recent 316 stainless fasteners. There is a new Anderson self-tailing halyard winch, and the mast was re-coated. Some of the new electronics need to be hooked up. The Deck coating and non-skid is original and showing some wear in places. The headliner needs to be replaced, along with some other attention to interior cosmetics such as some wood trim veneer. Overall, it is very enjoyable as-is, however.
