Very well maintained 1979 Cal 39 MK II! Ready to sail!

The CAL 39 Mk-II may be the ideal offshore racer/cruiser that combines excellent handling and speed with a roomy, comfortable cabin. It is equally comfortable and capable as a coastal cruiser and weekend boat as it is a distance traveler and passagemaker. These qualities also make it a fantastic liveaboard, whether part-time or full-time.

The seller purchased this vessel in May 2021. The previous owner had almost completed a refit in preparation for sailing the vessel to Asia. The current owner completed the refit, including a new mainsail, solar panels, refrigeration, GPS/Chartplotter/Fishfinder, autopilot, AIS, prop, and more, then sailed it around the northern Carribean.

The CAL 39 is equipped with a new in 2021 mainsail and roller furling jib. It has a solar charging system to keep the batteries charged on those long passages. The vessel is equipped with radar.

This vessel is currently stored on the hard in a clean, ready-to-sail condition.

ConditionThis vessel is in overall above average condition for its age due to its recent refurbishment and refit. The previous owner did a full rebuild on the Perkins engine and there are only a handful of hours on it since refit. The three-blade prop is new as of May 2021. All rigging is in good condition. The mainsail is new as of May 2021. A recent inspection discovered water intrusion in the deck at the chain plates and in one side of the rudder. The water intrusion beneath one chain plate also appears in the bulkhead beneath it, which shows some delamination. The seller has reduced the list price of the boat to compensate. The surveyor reported that the boat is safe and usable, but that this should be addressed sooner rather than later.
