New Bottom! Low Hours! Needs work to that and you'll have a great cruiser!

A company born by boat designer and racer Ted Irwin, Irwin Yachts' first vessel was created in 1967. Consisting of a product assortment starting with a 34-foot yacht and ranging in size up to 68 feet in length, Irwin Yachts were designed for racing as well as cruising. At the time of Irwin Yachts closure in 1991, more than 6,000 sailing vessels were built from the Clearwater, Florida company.

Citation 39 is a popular boat that combines the combination of performance design and cruising luxury.

This boat was built in the day when builders were very liberal in construction and tended to overbuild hulls and decks which resulted in very strong boats.

The current owners bought this boat with the aim of a cruising lifestyle but like many others, found that real life, careers, etc. changed that plan. Subsequently, the boat sat at a mooring for a couple of years until they decided to sell.

They brought it to a local boatyard and had the bottom completely redone in summer 2019.

The deck is well set up for cruising and club racing with lines leading aft and primary self-tailing winches as well as secondaries if needed for racing.

The interior is spacious with a quarter berth aft, a large galley area, chart table, and port and starboard settees.

There's a fully enclosed head with sink and shower aft of the forward Vee berth cabin.

The boat is powered by a 30HP Yanmar Diesel with only 360 hours on it.

The boat has a wind vane and 2 large solar panels (need to be installed) for battery charging independent of shore power.

The headroom is 6'2". The forward Vee Berth is 6'6".

The hull is Fin Keeled with the rudder on a skeg.

ConditionBoat was on a mooring and got loose during a storm and scraped alongside another boat damaging the port side stanchions as can be seen in the photos. Bottom was completely cleaned and repainted and new shaft installed in June/July 2019 and is cleaned by a diver monthly. New engine mounts installed 2019. 8 house 6V batteries. Cushions and upholstery appear to be in good condition. As mentioned, the boat needs work to be finished. Observed work needed: Some of the stanchions on the port side need repair or replacement. Winches need to be lubricated. Replace running rigging as needed. Re-do woodwork in cockpit. Interior: Headliner in forward cabin needs to be re-glued. Cabin sole flooring needs repair/replacement where needed. Sides above settees are bare and need to be covered.
