1984 S2 Yachts 9.1M "Fly Like The Wind" Winning Competitive Sailor and Set to go cruising!

The M-43 is an excellent racer/cruiser with a proven history. She is a great boat for one-design racing and weekends aboard. Complete turnkey package that is ready to go; just launch, untie the lines, and get started this Spring.

This is a competitive, freshwater 1984 racer/cruiser, built in Holland, Michigan by Leon Slikkers before the company moved to power craft as Tiara Yachts.

Designed in 1983 to meet the Midget Ocean Racing Club (MORC) standards S2 9.1 established itself as a worthy competitor. With its current PHRF rating of 132, you will not find a more comfortable, capable & well thought out 30' sailboat. A big main and large overlapping headsail make this boat a weapon upwind. The large masthead symmetrical spinnaker means you can sail closer to dead downwind at speed and sail a shorter distance than many of the modern sailboats of today.

Looking for a pleasant weekend cruise this S2 9.1 meter has the most comfortable and versatile interior layout of any 30 footer you will ever see. She comfortably sleeps 7, has all you need in the galley, a private head, and plenty of headroom at 6.2.

M-43 has been successfully raced on Lake Michigan in South Haven, as well as competing in multiple long-distance overnight races on Lake Michigan, including Chicago to Mackinac.

She is ready to sail now; all you need to do is drop her in the water.

ConditionHull strong with anti-foul paint, no blisters. A recent third party survey is available that detected several areas of moisture. This is a 40-year-old sailboat and one should not be surprised at some water infiltration. Results of the survey will be made available to those making an offer. List price was modified to adjust for the potential costs to resolve at a discriminating buyer who would determined to do so. Paint VC-17 Spring 2020. There is no meter on the engine use. The engine has been professionally maintained and serviced annually and, reports the seller, runs strong at 8 mph to the entry to the harbor and access to Lake Michigan. The Martek Twin blade folding prop drive is in very good shape. The Sails are newer and in very good shape. The standing rigging was replaced in 2018. The electronics all function as intended. The twin 12-volt batteries are newer and hold charge and power the pressurized water, automatic bilge pump, and lights when under sail.
