Charming classic Herreshoff 47' Golden Ball leeboard Ketch with a 2'8" draft with the boards up!
Classic 47-foot Sailing Yacht
L. Francis Herreshoff designed sensible cruising yachts as with this Leeboard Ketch design # 107 made for shallow waters off the coast.
1985 Goldenball located in Bokeelia, FL used in the Florida Keys for Scout High Adventure Sails.
When you climb aboard marvel at the array of refined details like Sitka spruce masts and the bronze hardware.
Jib, Main, and Mizzen Sails all have lines leading to the cockpit.
Aft of cockpit separate Captain /crew quarters with two bunks.
Leeboards were built in 2005 which is the same year as the
Twin diesel Yanmars.
As you step further into the Mahogany superstructure finished in hi-gloss varnish in the cabin you will be transported to old-world charm with custom cabinetry.
In the Galley on the starboard side with stove and burners above custom shelves. The freezer and refrigerator are on the port side.
The nav table sits aft port of the refrigerator and freezer.
With a stationed large center table that converts into the width of the table cribbage board and wine storage inside: makes a very large proper table.
The previous owner replaced the nineteen portholes with the current bronze.
One forward head
A/C in the main cabin.
Swim ladder onboard.
This is a cool boat for exploring the shoal waters, whether on the Gulf Coast, the Keys, or the Bahamas. Well built with safety and priority.
