Great condition yacht ready for the Great Loop or nice live aboard.
This classic Chris Craft Catalina 426, located just north of Boston, is in excellent condition.
"I am a little OCD," says the seller. "I wouldn't hesitate to take her to Florida tomorrow on her own bottom."
All annual maintenance is done in the fall including new zincs and bottom paint before being winterized. Complete maintenance records are onboard, all the way back to the original purchase invoice. Yup, a little OCD.
Manufacturer manuals are also included for every system on the boat from radar array to bilge pumps and everything in between.
Boarding the boat from the large swim platform brings you first to the aft deck with new indoor/outdoor carpet.
There are also deck entry points on both port and starboard sides should you not dock stern-to.
Four steps up to the helm area finds a large deck with a bolstered seat at the helm with a matching seat to port. behind these is bench seating for 2 more so the captain won't be driving by himself. Above this area is a recently added custom hardtop.
A full array of electronics includes Raymarine radar, Garmin GPC/Chartplotter and redundancy with Hummingbird along with a mount for an iPad.
From the aft deck, you enter below decks through a thick plexiglass door. Four steps down is the main salon. To port is an L-shaped couch that converts to a sleeping berth and to starboard are stairs down to the aft captain's cabin.
Forward of the main salon are a few steps down to the galley and dining area.
The galley has a 3 burner stove top with oven under and a full-size microwave above. The full-sized refrigerator includes a freezer. There is a surprising amount of storage space in drawers and cabinets to make any gourmand happy.
The 2 bay stainless sink is quite large also by marine standards.
U-shaped seating around the dinette table seats six in this galley area.
The main salon and galley/dining area are open to each other and surrounded by windows giving abundant natural lighting. The carpeting throughout is new and in great condition.
The double berth in the bow has an island berth and includes a mirrored vanity with sink and hot/cold pressurized water. The toilet is enclosed with a shower attachment. Opening portlights, 2 to starboard and one to port, along with a Bowmar opening deck hatch provide good natural ventilation and lighting.
Until I saw the aft cabin, I thought this bow compartment was the captain's berth.
Aft of the stateroom, down a couple of steps is the captains berth, and it's gorgeous.
The island berth at the centerline of the cabin has abundant natural light. There is a TV to starboard, reading lights on both sides and a lighted makeup mirror and chair to port.
Just forward is the door leading to the bathroom with shower and full sized bath tub. There 2 full-sized closets with louvered doors.
The engines and generator are accessed through hatches in the stateroom floor with plenty of room to work in.
