Well Regarded Solid and Stable Riding Classic Cape Dory model which can be used as a liveaboard, sportfish, or family cruiser

Cape Dory is a staple of high quality, American made fishing yachts. The Offshore 36 Flybridge Cruiser is a solid boat built to satisfy the fisherman and his passengers alike. This example is hull #1 of only 13 built and was set up as a dealer demo boat with all the options.

Climbing aboard the aft cockpit, you find a fishing boat built for going after big fish offshore, complete with the transom fish door to help bring the big one aboard. A fighting chair makes landing the big one just that much easier. The non-fisherman will find ample space to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine.

Climb the ladder to the flybridge and you find a helm that was well equipped in its day with the best money could buy. Much of that equipment is dated today, giving the aspiring captain a great canvas on which to paint his own desires for modern electronics.

The seating, canvas, and isinglass of the bridge are in good shape, and its high perch gives the captain a 360-degree view of the waters around his boat. This perch makes finding your fishing spot or docking easy as can be.

Entering the air-conditioned cabin through the sliding door, you find a very comfortable saloon for entertaining guests. She's a great liveaboard with a fully equipped galley, complete with dual-voltage refrigerator, range with oven, double sink, and microwave and plenty of storage.

Forward of the galley and saloon are the full head with electric macerator toilet, sink with tile surround, and standalone shower. Opposite the head is a double bunk stateroom, currently being utilized for storage. The forward stateroom hosts a double v-berth with memory foam mattresses. The forward staterooms are cooled by their own air-conditioner.

Under the saloon is a roomy engine room housing a pair of Detroit Diesel 8.2L 4-cycle Fuel Pincher engines of 250hp each. Also in the engine room is the Northern Lights 7kw diesel generator. These engines are excellently maintained by the seller, who is a professional captain and dockmaster.

All mechanical systems are in working order and regularly maintained. The air conditioning blows cold and quiet. The boat is clean and ready for years more service as a fishing yacht, liveaboard, or charter boat.

ConditionPer the Seller: This vessel is in good condition for its age. The engines fire up immediately and produce little to no smoke. Its fuel consumption is so low that the owner can't even really measure it. He typically uses it more like a trawler towing lures, so doesn't run it at full speed. It survived Hurricane Irma with minimal cosmetic damage, despite the dock it was tied to being sunk. All of the bridge gear is original to the boat. This boat will make an excellent canvas for a captain who wants to retrofit all the modern conveniences to a solid, reliable platform. A recent survey found the boat to have overall good bones and a solid hull but in need of some TLC to resolve a laundry list of minor mechanical issues.
