The boat is powered by a 55 horsepower Volvo Penta diesel engine and by its full sail set, including roller furling headsail, main, and spinnaker. The in-cabin helm makes the Folkes a true motorsailer with a helm wheel and navigation capabilities under roof. The aft cockpit helm is outfitted with beautiful teak deck and benches alongside the Ritchie compass-crowned helm station.
Radar, depth sounder, weather facsimile instrument, digital compasses, and autopilot are onboard for navigation. For communication: Lorad model XR-90 VHF and ICom model IC-m302 VHF. The make and model for electronics are detailed below.
The cabin is heated by a Webasto diesel heater. The steel hull has a 3" sprayed foam liner and the owner indicates the Webasto keeps the cabin warm even in below zero temperatures. Accommodations include a forward stateroom, quarter berth, and a convertible dinette-settee for more sleeping capacity. Manual head with overboard discharge, sink, and shower are in the separate head compartment. The full galley includes a propane-fueled stove, oven, and double sink with storage above and below the counters.
