1996 Catalina 42 WKII Very good condition with recent updates.
Very nice 1996 Catalina 36MKII Wing Keel. Designed as a comfortable cruiser, there is room to make extended passages comfortably or to spend summers dockside.
This boat has just been extensively re-fitted by experienced owners and is ready for many more years of sailing and adventures. Sellers report that multiple issues were revealed as needing attention recently and that they had all of these items addressed.
All of the stanchions and stays have been lifted, cleaned and re-bedded. The interior bulkheads have been replaced and new stainless steel tangs have been installed. Portlights have been resealed and replaced as necessary. New double lifelines have been installed on the boat.
The boat has the original, double-reefed mainsail with full battens and the Dutchman flaking system. A brand new 135 Doyle genoa with foam luff is installed on a rebuilt Schaeffer furler. Brand new standing rigging as well as forestay and split backstay.
New running rigging in 2018/2019 and lines lead to the cockpit. Self-tailing primary winches and single line reefing from the cockpit. The binnacle features a folding wheel, compass, plotter with radar, throttle, and shifter. There are also full cockpit cushions in good condition and a varnished cockpit table.
Down below is in equally nice condition. All cushions and surfaces are in good repair and all systems are said to be in good working order. There is a large forward stateroom with a vee berth and ample storage. A full enclosed head is aft to port with a hanging locker opposite
Further aft is a large convertible dinette to port with dual upholstered seats opposite with a smaller table between. There is a fully equipped galley to port and a navigation station opposite at the rear of the main cabin. The galley features a double sink, a gimballed 3 burner stove with oven, large icebox with generous counter and storage space.
There is also a good-sized private aft cabin separated by a door behind the nav station. This area features a large berth, ample opening hatches, and good storage space.
This absolutely does not appear to be a 24-year-old boat. Call me today with any questions or to make this wonderful boat the base for your new adventures.
