"Wayward Wind" is our spectacular, one of a kind, Navigator 50 Classic Cockpit Motoryacht. She was the only 50 (or 53 for that matter) that was built around a pair of 600 hp MTU 6R-183TE93's for enhanced performance and economy. This was a 200K upgrade. Freshwater until 2005, we sold this boat out of Nashville and delivered her to the Great Lakes, where her very knowledgable owner single handed her all over the Great Lakes and over to the east coast and eventually down to Jupiter, Florida. She remained in Florida until 2008 when her owner brought her back up the east coast and thru the Trent Sevrin Waterway back to the Great Lakes. She remains a low hour (829), very clean representation of Navigators' popular cruising yacht. She is now seriously for sale and we have priced her very competitively and will consider trades as well. Her engines will provide a comfortable cruise speed of 23 knots at 1900 RPM while consuming a meager 1.6 Gallons per Mile. She can be dialed up or down from this cruise speed. Dialed back, she provides even greater economy. But when you need to cover ground, no other Navigator or Carver 53 will match her speed.

This innovative, three stateroom, two head boat features an excellent layout that is very conducive to extended cruising or as a live aboard. Her salon and galley are on the same level as the cockpit and as blend into one large room and make movement about...safe and easy. Wide side decks and her starb'd side pilothouse door make locking thru a cinch. The raised pilothouse lounge will become the centerpiece of your cruising life style. The view from the pilothouse is excellent and even visibility aft thru the sliding glass doors is quite good. This boat is equipped with cameras both port and starb'd to aid in backing up. Another camera provides engine room views as well.

This boat will lend itself to extended cruising by virtue of its many ammenities... pilothouse lower station with HUGE L shaped lounge with a large drop leaf table. Starb'd side door for easy access docking and locking, large cockpit with transom door leading to a oversized swim platform, HUGE bridge with expansive seating arrangement, bridge deck refrigerator, ice maker, grill and enough storage areas to become a second galley, Brower 800 lb. low profile davit with strong backs, wide side decks, excellent electronics, spare props, spacious engine room, great ground tackle and windlass controls at both stations...the list goes on and on. Her bilges are very clean and bright white. Constant care and attention along with continual updating have made "WAYWARD WIND" a most desirable cruising vessel.

Boarding from the stern, she features a very large swim platform with a transom door that accesses the cockpit which is flush with the salon and galley. Her sliding glass door also offers a sliding screen door for great ventilation while keeping out insects. Step into the wide open salon area with an entertainment center and built-in TV to port along with a swivel barrel chair. There is plenty of storage for books, manuals, tapes and CD's. Opposite to starb'd is a large leather sofa sleeper. Alongside the starb'd side is a bureau which offers a wetbar with storage and ice maker (new in 2007). The galley is portside and features a large countertop that can be used as a breakfast bar or just a place to sit and chat while the cook prepares dinner. The U shaped galley offers a maple wood sole, beautiful cherry cabinetry, copious storage and expansive countertops. Overhead cabinets provide additional storage. The galley is open to the pilothouse and its easy to pass thru to the pilothouse.

The pilothouse is raised and up two steps from the galley and salon. Large windows provide plenty of natural lighting and excellent visability. The helm is highlighted by a large wrap around lounge that frames an oblong pedestal table with a drop leaf which accommodates additional guests. There is a helm seat for the Captain. There is storage under the seating areas and to portside of the helm as well. The helm electronics are as follows: A newer Raymarine E120 chart plotter (displays camera images from port & starb'd), Raytheon R21XX Radar, Ray Pilot 650 Auto pilot, Raymarine Tri-Data, Raytheon Ray 220 VHF radio, Glendinning engine Sync., Wesmar bow thruster controls, Hynautic hydraulic controls. Blinds provide privacy and sun protection. To the starb'd side of the helm station is a pilothouse door that slides open and closed. A zippered screen door provides insect protection and cross ventilation. Abaft the helm are the gorgeous cherry stairs leading to the bridge deck.

Going down the carpeted companionway steps, surrounded by cherrywood paneling, one comes to the day head. The day head features an electric head, large mirrored cabinet, black sink with designer fixtures and faux granite countertops. A separate stall shower features a folding glass and aluminum door for easy in and out. Two doors provide both day access and private access from the forward guest stateroom. Opposite the head is the side stateroom which offers upper and lower bunks. The lower bunk is larger. There is a hanging locker, bureau with drawer, overhead lighting and opening portlight next to the upper bunk. Plenty of room to stand and change even with the door closed.  Since we are running out of space to add details, please call for complete spec.'s and additional pictures.
