Few brands of boat promise a more stable and solid ride than a Stamas, and the Tarpon 270 delivers that in spades. This 27-foot deck length boat has over a 9' beam, delivering lateral stability unsurpassed in a vessel of this size. At 5200 lbs dry, she also eats chop for breakfast.
The Stamas 270 Tarpon is very well equipped for the job it is designed for - offshore fishing. Featuring a plethora of rod holders, rocket launchers, and under gunwale rod storage, dual Raymarine E140 GPS/Plotter/Fishfinder screens, and 48-mile digital radar, this boat will get you far out to the fishing grounds and back again with speed and efficiency. The twin 2007 Yamaha F250 engines provide lots of smooth, efficient, and quiet power. Steering is hydraulic and the throttle/shift is electronic.
The cockpit features a single large live well on the port transom while the rest of the transom is occupied by a large fish box. The cockpit deck is a large hatch that provides easy access to all of the key mechanical and electrical systems including batteries, water pumps, fuel filters, and fuel senders.
The helm is large with plenty of space for the twin 14" screens. A leaning post provides a comfortable perch from which to drive the boat. The front of the helm console is a bench seat attached to a swinging door that gives access to the toilet and the backside of the helm electronics.
The bow is occupied by a space that can be either seating around a removable table or a casting deck. The Lewmar windlass and stainless anchor are out front. In the deck ahead of the console seat is a hatch with storage for a second anchor. Plenty of other storage is located under the bow seats/casting deck.
