Great Starter Boat For Cruising, Overnighting And Just Getting Out On The Water.

So, all your friends have been getting away from lock-down on boats, so you decide you want to give it a try?

A wise choice for a first boat, the Sea Ray 215 Weekender is an easily managed, fast, efficient, and affordable choice for those not sure in which direction their boating lives may evolve, assuming such boating lives evolve beyond said first boat.

Very well made as all of the Sea Ray brands are from the smallest to the largest, this particular model was aimed at the first-time boater, with the capability to handle a variety of missions and operating modes.

It is a quick and nimble boat, if one wants speed and thrills, powerful and speedy enough to be used for watersports, yet can cruise efficiently with a smooth and dry ride for the crew in sensible conditions.

It is easily and legally trailered, (trailer not included) and thus can be stored in a driveway, yard, or self-storage lot off-season instead of running up a tab at the marina.

For day cruising or hanging out there is comfortable seating for five or six in the cockpit, with sleeping for two below for the occasional overnight stay or midday nap for a cranky child or guest.

The cabin is also useful for changing, and for the more modest the curtained head with pump-out porta-potty provides additional privacy.

For machinery, you've got a very tame and reliable fuel-injected V8 Mercruiser engine with very low hours of usage for the age, and the Alpha 1 stern drive is about as reliable as they get, especially at the 260 horsepower power level. Just like a modern automobile, you'll just turn the key, the engine will start and run smoothly, take you where you want to go.

A relatively simple boat, basically the 225 Weekender without a water system and other extras, such simplicity also results in low maintenance, fewer things to break results in fewer broken things.

Finally, being a ubiquitous brand of known and predictable value and reliability, this Sea Ray will have excellent resale value for that day when you have refined your needs and come back to us for something different, or bigger... nobody ever got fired or chided for buying a Sea Ray, unless all their friends owned Hinckleys.

ConditionThe photos tell the story, low hours on a long-term owner boat, mostly hanging around outside the harbor. The original isinglass and slope-back canvas set are new in the factory storage bag and have never been used, clear and supple. The boat runs very well and everything works but the stereo.
