It is surprising what a manufacturer can put into a 28-foot boat these days. AND THIS BOAT HAS IT ALL. Extra freeboard provides standing cabin headroom, and the Chaparral 280 Signature has sleeping capacity for six in a floor plan that is very spacious. With a generous 10-foot beam, the Chaparral designers created a spacious, functional and efficient interior. The layout is similar to most boats of this size with a few twists. The U-shaped dinette also converts to sleeping for two and the mid-cabin double berth can be closed off by a privacy curtain. Galley storage is very good due to a large storage locker in the galley floor, and the blend of cherry cabinetry, light colored designer fabrics and vinyl wall coverings add to that airy feeling. The cockpit has wraparound seating aft, built-in entertainment center and a spacious storage locker under the portside passenger seat.
