Long before wakeboard boats, Nautique produced some of the best slalom ski boats in the world. The Super Air Nautique GS series boats are designed to minimize the compromise between water skiing, wakeboarding and wakesurfing.

We had the opportunity to test the Super Air Nautique GS22. By incorporating hull design elements from their Ski Nautique and G-series wakeboard boats and utilizing a large centre transom tab to control the attitude of the boat, it can produce dramatically different wakes.

The NCRS (Nautique Configurable Running Surface) tab deploys automatically depending on how the boat is being driven or which mode has been selected. In “Slalom Ski” mode, the NCRS tab instinctively deploys pushing the bow down at water skiing speeds and engaging the hull’s ski elements for flatter, softer wakes. There is zero bow rise and acceleration is immediate.

In “Wake Pro” or “Wake Surf” modes, the system adds ballast and positions the tab to shape the wave for wakeboarding or surfing. Ballast tanks full, the boat remains relatively flat with very little roll while producing a sizeable, clean wave. There are NSS surf plates that can be utilized to fine tune the wake at surf speeds. Switching the surf side takes only three seconds and can be triggered by the surfer from the water with a Bluetooth remote surf switch. As riders progress, every part of the system can be customized and saved to their individual profile for later use. But the wake is only part of the story.

The entire Nautique experience is special. From the quality vinyl upholstery to the premium SeaDek foam that covers almost every horizontal surface, the details in this boat are astonishing. At its heart is the Linc Panoray touch screen command centre from which the driver has the ability to control all the boat’s systems. It also displays the view from 180-degree awareness camera.

Dedicated to innovation in the tow boat category, Nautique provides remarkable versatility with this new GS22.
