A popular boat during her decade-long production run, the WELLCRAFT 43 Portofino was one of the largest express cruisers of her day when she was introduced in 1987.
The Wellcraft 43 Portofino was constructed on a low-deadrise hull with a wide 14'6" beam, prop pockets, and a solid fiberglass bottom
The master cabin is forward, with shelf space and two hanging lockers. The enclosed head compartment is adjacent and to port. In the single-stateroom layout the galley/dinette area in the salon is to starboard, abaft the cabin. There is also a mid cabin couch that converts to a berth.
The full galley is equipped with a two-burner stove, refrigerator, and shelf and counter space for storage and additional galley equipment.
On deck, the Portifino's roomy cockpit offers seating for
a small crowd. The helm is to starboard on the bridge deck, with a large L-shaped lounge to port. There's also a mini galley aft the helm.
The cockpit, down two steps, opens through a transom door to an integral swim platform/sportdeck. The twin engines are accessible below the bridge deck
Engine access is excellent--a hatch in the bridge deck reveals a ladder that leads down between the engines.
A radar arch, transom door, bow pulpit, cockpit wet bar, and fender storage racks were standard.
Side-dumping exhausts keep gas fumes away from the cockpit while underway..
